Bayshore Vegetable Shippers Ltd. currently has an existing vacancy for two Quality Control Technicians to join their team.
General Overview:
We are seeking detail-oriented and dependable Quality Control Technicians to join our fresh produce team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming and outgoing products, monitoring quality standards, and ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.
This role offers a competitive wage starting at $22 - $24/hr., plus benefits including health insurance and dental, and 2 weeks of paid vacation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect fresh produce to ensure quality, freshness, and compliance with company standards.
- Conduct routine quality checks and document inspection results.
- Identify and report product defects, quality concerns, and process deviations.
- Assist with investigations and corrective actions related to quality issues.
- Monitor compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, including HACCP and GMP standards.
- Support audits, quality assurance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with operations, warehouse, and production teams to maintain product quality.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in quality control, food production, agriculture, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of quality assurance practices, food safety standards, and inspection procedures.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, GMPs, HACCP, and other industry regulations is an asset.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse and fresh produce environment.
- Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting.
- Some overtime and weekend work may be required.
