Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our industrial maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting heavy machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and technical expertise, with a focus on ensuring optimal equipment performance and safety compliance. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will work closely with other maintenance personnel to support continuous production operations and uphold high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty equipment including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills
- Maintain and repair programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and HVAC components
- Operate and interpret CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders and maintenance history
- Conduct welding, boiler repairs, and other fabrication tasks as needed
- Assist with preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
- Follow safety protocols related to industrial electrician work, HVAC systems, welding, and boiler operations
- Document all maintenance activities accurately and efficiently in the system
- Support troubleshooting efforts by analyzing system failures and recommending corrective actions
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer service standards are met
Experience
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments with a focus on heavy machinery repair
- Strong background in mechanical knowledge, electrical experience, and industrial electrician skills
- Familiarity with schematics, CMMS software, PLC programming, HVAC systems, welding techniques, boiler operation, and low voltage systems preferred
- Experience working with industrial equipment such as engines, hydraulics, electrical panels, and mechanical components
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics effectively
- Excellent analysis skills combined with a customer service mindset
- Previous experience in maintenance within manufacturing settings is highly desirable
