Insoltech Automation Solutions is an industrial electronics repair facility specializing in component-level bench diagnostics for VFD, Servo, and Spindle Motor drives (Fanuc, Siemens, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi).
We are seeking an entry-level Electronics Inspector and Tester to join our technical bench team in Edmonton. This is a junior/trainee position focused on proprietary machinery troubleshooting; a specialized college degree is not required, as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided directly by the employer.
Core Operational Duties:
- Operate digital multimeters and oscilloscopes to locate circuit faults and component-level defects on industrial control boards.
- Safely conduct electrical diagnostics on incoming automated industrial equipment with power circuits up to 400V.
- Perform manual cleaning, degreasing, and refurbishing of heavily oiled and dirty industrial automation units.
- Inspect electronic assemblies to ensure proper component placement and high-quality soldering connections.
- Log, tag, and isolate defective printed circuit boards (PCBs) for bench rework.
- Adhere strictly to workshop safety protocols and electrostatic discharge (ESD) standards.
Qualifications & Demands:
- Completion of secondary school (High School diploma or equivalent) is required.
- Must have a steady hand and strong hand-eye coordination to learn precision micro-soldering of surface-mount device (SMD) components.
- Must possess the baseline visual aptitude to learn how to read resistor color band values and alphanumeric SMD marking codes.
- Must be completely comfortable handling messy, dirty, and oily industrial equipment on a daily basis.
- Must demonstrate strict safety awareness regarding 400V testing environments.
- No high-level engineering experience required; willing to train the right candidate from the ground up.
Compensation & Hours:
- Wage: $22.56 per hour
- Hours: 30 hours per week (Permanent, Full-time)
