Motor Winder / Electrical Motor Repair Technician

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Winder to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring the repair, maintenance, and performance of electric motors for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble, inspect, and diagnose faults in electric motors, generators, and related equipment.
- Perform rewinding of AC and DC motors (stators, rotors, armatures, and field coils).
- Repair, replace, and test motor windings, insulation, and connections.
- Operate tools and equipment used for stripping, winding, dipping, and baking motor coils.
- Balance rotors and perform electrical/mechanical tests on completed work.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and testing results.
- Adhere to company safety policies and industry standards at all times.
Qualifications & Desired Criteria
- Previous experience as a Motor Winder / Electrical Technician (industrial or marine preferred).
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC motors, generators, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with insulation resistance testing, surge testing, and other diagnostic methods.
- Mechanical aptitude for disassembly and assembly of motor components.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and strong safety awareness.
- Red Seal Electrician or equivalent certification (asset but not required).
- Marine or heavy industrial experience (asset).
- Physically capable of handling tools, lifting, and working in a workshop environment.
