Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Industrial Machine Operator to join our production team in a bakery environment. This role is responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment to ensure efficient, safe, and consistent manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing or production setting. Bakery experience is not required but is a bonus. We are looking for individuals who are mechanically inclined, dependable, physically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor bakery production equipment, including mixers, ovens, slicers, and packaging machines
- Load and unload bakery products throughout the production process
- Empty ovens and handle hot bread safely and efficiently
- Lift, carry, stack, and move bread pans, racks, ingredients, and finished products
- Set up, adjust, and oversee equipment during production runs
- Perform routine inspections to ensure equipment is operating properly
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and mechanical adjustments to minimize downtime
- Assist with packaging and preparation of finished products for distribution
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of equipment and work areas
- Follow all workplace safety, food safety, and sanitation procedures
- Accurately record production information and report equipment issues to supervisors
- Maintain product quality standards and help achieve daily production targets
Requirements
- Previous experience operating industrial or manufacturing machinery
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn production processes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable and punctual attendance
- Personal vehicle and reliable transportation required
- Availability for morning shifts and/or late shifts
- Ability to work in a warm production environment around ovens and bakery equipment
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, production, packaging, or industrial environments
- Experience performing machine setup, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting
- Familiarity with sanitation procedures and workplace safety standards
- Experience working with automated production or packaging equipment
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
