We are a growing commercial kitchen exhaust (hood vent) cleaning company serving Kelowna and the Okanagan. We are looking for Hood Cleaning Technicians to help follow established quality standards, execute cleaning jobs, and support the growth of the company.
This role is ideal for a technician with NFPA 96 knowledge, hands-on experience, and industry certifications who wants to grow with a company. Experience is a strong asset but we are willing to train the right candidates. We are looking for part-time assistance initially to start.
Responsibilities
- Perform full-service commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning, including:
- Hoods, filters, ductwork, exhaust fans, and rooftop components
- Ensure all work is completed to NFPA 96 and BC Fire Code standards
- Oversee job setup, containment, cleaning, and final inspection
- Complete job reports, before/after photos, and compliance tags
- Maintain equipment (hot pressure washer, steam cleaner), tools, and company vehicle/trailer cleanliness
- Follow all WorkSafeBC safety procedures (ladders, rooftops, chemicals)
Ideal Experience & Skills
- 1+ years of commercial hood / kitchen exhaust cleaning experience is a huge asset
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 96
- Ability think on your feet and are adaptable to learn these niche services
- Comfortable working evenings, nights, and weekends
- Physically able to lift 40 lbs, work at heights, and access rooftops
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
Preferred Certifications (Strong Asset)
- ASTTBC RFPT (Fire Protection Technician)
- NFPA 96 training or certification
- IKECA Certified Kitchen Exhaust Cleaner (CKEC)
- WHMIS
- Fall Protection / Working at Heights
- First Aid Level 1
(Candidates without all certifications may still be considered if experience is strong.)
Pay & Benefits
- $25–$35 per hour, based on experience, certifications and role

Schedule
