About the Role
We’re looking for a Health & Safety Manager who doesn’t just understand safety, but actually enjoys being out in it.
This role is a mix of field work, coaching, and collaboration. You’ll be spending real time on job sites with our teams, helping people work safely, confidently, and consistently. You’ll also partner with operations and leadership to strengthen how we approach safety across the company, not just through policies, but through everyday habits that actually stick.
This role is hands-on, visible, and influential. It’s about building trust with teams while ensuring every site is safe, compliant, and supported.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and evolve our health and safety programs in a way that works in real life, not just on paper
- Get out into the field regularly to visit sites, connect with teams, and spot opportunities to improve safety
- Support supervisors and site leads with hands-on guidance, coaching, and practical solutions
- Investigate incidents and near misses, focusing on clear learning and meaningful prevention
- Make sure we stay aligned with applicable occupational health and safety legislation, client requirements, and internal standards
- Build and deliver engaging safety training, toolbox talks, and onboarding sessions that people actually remember
- Keep safety documentation current, including procedures, site safety plans, and training materials
- Work closely with HR and operations to support return-to-work plans and modified duties when needed
- Track safety performance and trends, and use that insight to drive real improvements
- Be a go-to resource for safety questions
- Support emergency preparedness planning and ensure teams are confident in what to do when it matters most
Who You Are, You:
- Have 5+ years of experience in health and safety, ideally in cleaning, facilities, hospitality, or a multi-site operational environment
- Know occupational health and safety legislation well and can apply it in a practical, common-sense way
- Are comfortable being in the field and enjoy talking with frontline teams, not just sitting at a desk
- Communicate clearly and naturally, and people trust how you show up
- Organized and can juggle multiple sites and priorities without losing momentum
- Know how to lead incident investigations, inspections, and audits
- Have a CRSP, NCSO, or equivalent designation is an asset
- Able to travel regularly to different job sites
- Meet any required client security clearance requirements
Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Dental care
- Employee assistance program
- Extended health care
- On-site parking
- Paid time off
- Work from home
Work Location: On the road
