Overview:
We are a commercial carrier that runs general freight that services the Westlock, Barrhead, and Edmonton areas and have depots in those locations. If you are looking for a team atmosphere and a small company environment, consider applying to join our team!
This is a class 1 driver position that will work out of our Edmonton Depot. If you are a reliable, hardworking, flexible team player, available for either night or afternoon shifts, consider applying. The successful candidate will do city pick ups and deliveries, run trailer loads to various loactions including Westlock and Barrhead, hook up to multiple trailers a day and load and off load freight. Benefits are available after 4 months of employment with Red Lion Express.
Your Daily Responsibilities:
- Load, handle and transport materials and heavy cargo safely
- Unload various freight via forklift, pallet jack, 2-wheeler, or by hand
- Hook up and unhook to several trailers a day
- Adhere to Hours-of-Service regulations
- Handle freight documents/manifests
- Promptly deliver customer freight and update dispatch on ETA's
- Complete all other duties as reasonably assigned
Our General Requirements/Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Class 1 license
- Must provide a Clean Commercial Drivers abstract; valid within the past 30 days
- Minimum 4 years driving experience with class 1 license
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds unassisted and have physical strength –able to lift and carry heavy loads and safely place them on trucks
- Basic automotive repair skills for minor vehicle maintenance.
- Must be able to drive manual transmission
- Must be bondable
- Deck experience would be preferred
Pay: $27.00 per hour
