Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Couple's Therapist to join our growing team as an Independent Contractor. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping couples strengthen their relationships, improve communication, resolve conflict, and foster lasting emotional connection. In addition to working with couples, the therapist may also provide individual therapy when clinically appropriate.
The successful candidate will utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, collaborate with other members of our multidisciplinary team, and maintain high standards of ethical and professional practice.
Fluency in Farsi is considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities
- Conduct couples and individual therapy sessions to address relationship concerns, communication difficulties, conflict resolution, intimacy, and emotional well-being.
- Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other required records in accordance with CRPO standards.
- Collaborate with other clinicians and healthcare professionals when appropriate to ensure comprehensive client care.
- Participate in case consultations and maintain ethical, client-centered practice.
- Stay current with emerging research and best practices through ongoing professional development.
- Provide culturally responsive and inclusive care to individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health discipline.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
- Experience providing couples therapy and working with relationship concerns.
- Formal training in evidence-based couples therapy modalities such as the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), or comparable approaches is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations and presenting concerns.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and clinical assessment skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative clinical team.
- Fluency in Farsi is considered an asset.
