Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Carpenter / Handyman / Woman to perform renovation, repair, and maintenance work on residential rental properties throughout Winnipeg and the surrounding area. The ideal candidate is experienced in a wide variety of carpentry and general handyman tasks, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can work independently while managing multiple renovation projects. This position requires the successful candidate to supply their own truck and basic tools. Fuel will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Complete residential renovations, repairs, and general maintenance on rental properties.
- Perform carpentry work including framing, trim, doors, baseboards, cabinetry, flooring, and drywall repairs.
- Install, repair, and replace fixtures, hardware, and other building components.
- Complete painting, patching, caulking, and finishing work to a professional standard.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine effective repair solutions.
- Safely operate hand and power tools while following safe work practices.
- Read and interpret work orders and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Maintain accurate communication regarding project progress, materials, and additional repair requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at each job site.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in residential renovations, carpentry, or general handyman work.
- Strong working knowledge of carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and general building repairs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a reliable truck suitable for transporting tools and materials.
- Must provide your own basic hand and power tools required to perform the job.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple repair tasks.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual labour throughout the workday.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship and property care.
