We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our vibrant restaurant team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to traditional techniques and recipes
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are strictly followed during food handling and meal preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area
- Serve sushi to guests in a professional, friendly manner, providing excellent food service
- Assist in the development of new sushi menu items and specials to attract customers
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders during busy service hours
Requirements
- Proven experience in serving, food preparation, cooking, or food handling within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills and ingredient handling
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen environment
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork-oriented attitude
- Passion for Japanese cuisine and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes
