ON CALL EARLY CHILD CARE EDUCATOR

The purpose of MTC Childcare is to help families living in the community of McKenzie Towne and in the neighborhood communities by offering quality childcare for children between 19 months and 5 years old. We are a licensed childcare, approved by the Alberta Government. Our dedicated staff have Early Childhood Education credentials and valid First Aid certificates. The program is held within the McKenzie Towne Hall.
MTC Childcare hours are from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Job description
The On Call Early Childcare Educator will cover when permanent staff is absent or on vacation. The On Call Early Childcare Educator will provide developmentally appropriate activities in a play based childcare environment.
Reporting: The on Call Early Childcare Educator will report to the MTC Childcare Program Supervisor
Duties include:
· Be familiar with Licensing Regulations
· Plan and implement activities
· Supporting the growth and healthy development of children
· Ensure children are always supervised
· Ensure all equipment are always well maintained clean and safe
· Read and understand emergency policies and procedures
· Observe and document children’s interests
· Establish appropriate daily routines in fitting with the children
· Complete monthly observation charts and planning pages
Qualifications:
- Childcare Staff Certification (Level 1, 2 0r 3)
- At least 1 year experience working in daycare with different age group.
- Current CPR level C & First Aid; Criminal record check is required
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and staff
