Support Worker (ECE required)Job Summary
MAUM GREEN Early Care & Learning Centre is seeking a caring, reliable, and collaborative Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our team as a Support Worker in our licensed In-Home Multi-Age Child Care Centre.
This position offers an opportunity to work closely with young children in a warm, relationship-based environment while supporting inclusive practices and individualized care.
Position: Part-Time (20 hours/week)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–12:30 PM or 9:30 AM–1:30 PM
Start Date: July 2026
Wage: $19–$24/hour + $6 Wage Enhancement, based on qualifications and experience
There may be an opportunity for this position to grow into additional hours or a full-time role depending on the needs of the children and the program.
Responsibilities
- Support children's holistic development through inclusive and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Implement individualized strategies and collaborate with families and supporting professionals when needed.
- Observe, document, and respond thoughtfully to children's development, interests, and well-being.
- Foster positive social-emotional development through respectful relationships and positive guidance.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
- Build authentic relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding their child's experiences and needs.
- Follow licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and daycare policies.
- Support daily routines including meals, hygiene, transitions, rest periods, and play experiences.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and reflective practice.
QualificationsRequired
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate
- Minimum one year of experience working in a licensed childcare setting (including practicum experience)
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance
- Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR Level B Certification
- Up-to-date immunization record
- Three professional references
Assets
- Experience supporting children who require additional support
- Experience working within a collaborative childcare team
- Familiarity with the BC Early Learning Framework and emergent curriculum practices
