Position Summary
Eastside Industrial is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Technologist / EIT to support composite manufacturing, tooling, fixtures, work instructions, production follow-up, and technical documentation.
This role is intended to support the Manufacturing Project Manager with the technical execution of new and active projects. The successful candidate will help move engineering and production tasks forward, follow up on tooling and fixture work, support shop-floor issues, and ensure documentation, drawings, work instructions, and production requirements are completed on time.
This is a practical, fast-paced manufacturing role suited for someone who is organized, technically capable, comfortable working with production teams, and able to follow up on multiple open tasks without needing constant direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing engineering tasks for composite production programs.
- Assist with tooling, trimming, assembly, and production fixture follow-up.
- Track parts through production and help identify bottlenecks, quality issues, and missing information.
- Support production teams with drawings, CAD files, work instructions, photos, notes, and technical clarification.
- Prepare, update, and maintain work instructions for lamination, trimming, assembly, drilling, bonding, and packaging.
- Assist with APQP, FAI, SDR, audit preparation, inspection follow-up, and customer documentation packages.
- Review drawings, CAD models, customer files, and production feedback to help identify manufacturing concerns.
- Follow up with internal engineering, tooling, quality, purchasing, and production teams to keep tasks moving.
- Assist with fixture and tooling requirements, including 3D printed fixtures, drill fixtures, trim fixtures, set blocks, racks, and packaging concepts.
- Help coordinate sample panels and testing requirements, including mechanical and Flame, Smoke, and Toxicity testing.
- Support costing packages by collecting part details, manufacturing assumptions, packaging requirements, and process inputs.
- Maintain action lists, task trackers, and project follow-up notes.
- Help resolve shop-floor production issues related to fit, alignment, trimming, hardware, inserts, fixtures, mold issues, and work instructions.
- Support multiple active customer programs, including transit, agricultural, tooling, and production launch work.
