POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Supervisor-Reporting at New Flyer will oversee the daily operations of the Group Internal Accounting Reporting Team. Working closely with the Group Internal Accounting Manager, this individual will ensure the team is meeting deadlines for month end, quarter end, and year end reporting in accordance with NFI Group policies and process. The Accounting Supervisor-Reporting will support leadership in the development and implementation of Standardized Group accounting policies and process.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Monitor the daily performance of the North American Reporting team of the Group Internal Accounting Function and communicate progress to the Group Internal Accounting Manager and Director

Review of internal financial statements to ensure accuracy

Work with External Reporting Team to assist in preparation of financial statements, note disclosures, and ad hoc reporting requirements

Work closely with the Group Internal Accounting Manager to ensure that deadlines for the submission of month end, quarter end, and year end results are submitted on time and in accordance with NFI Group policies and processes

Ensure that document preparation and retention by all members of the team is in accordance with Group practices

Monitor compliance with ICFR controls which are the responsibility or the Reporting Team

Support and provide information for both the internal and external audits

Oversee month-end FX processes performed by Reporting team

Provide leadership to team members and peers through collaboration

Identification of unusual accounting transactions and resolution of their treatment with support from the Group Accounting function

Supervise and mentor direct reports, including assigning work, supporting development, leading employee performance reviews, etc.

Responsible for the training of new- hires and for evaluating the performance of and providing feedback to your team

Assist in the development and implementation of NFI Group Accounting standard processes

Support all Group Accounting initiatives as required
Requirements
-
CPA Designation
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
-
5+ years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, with a focus on supervisory or management roles

Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS and financial reporting standards

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP Systems: experience with SAP or Oracle is an asset

Advanced skills in MS Excel along with capability in financial modeling

Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams

High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
