Lawyers at DBM provide legal expertise and support to clients, handling a diverse caseload while working closely with partners and junior associates to deliver effective legal solutions.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Drafting legal documents, briefs, pleadings, and agreements
- Conducting legal research to support case strategies
- Advising clients
- Representing clients in administrative proceedings, court proceedings, negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution processes
- Coordinating discovery processes and managing case-related documentation
- Communicating effectively with clients to provide updates and legal guidance
- Collaborating with associates and partners to ensure efficient case management
- Supervising support staff in the performance of their duties
- Demonstrating strong advocacy and negotiation skills in client representation
- Managing your caseload with solid practice management techniques
- Networking and marketing to build and grow your legal practice
To qualify, you will need to be a member of the Law Society of BC (or eligible for membership without the need for articles).
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Amicus Attorney, DivorceMate, PCLaw and Primafact
- Strong advocacy and negotiating skills
- Solid practice management skills and business acumen
- A current book of work would be an asset
