Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Retail Paint Specialist to join our team at Randall's Paint and Decorating Centre. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, expert advice on paint and decor products, and contribute to a positive shopping experience in our stores.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with product selection, including interior and exterior paints, stains, colors, finishes, and with training assist with window treatments and wallpaper.
- Offer color consultations, window treatment recommendations upon training, and color matching services.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems.
- Maintain store inventory, including stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability and cleanliness.
- Provide knowledgeable guidance on paint application techniques, product features, and home decor trends.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and uphold store standards.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and build lasting relationships to encourage repeat business.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in retail paint sales, home improvement, or decorating environment.
- MUST HAVE Strong knowledge of paint and stain products, including various brands, types (e.g., interior/exterior), finishes, and application methods. Know how to tint paint
- Familiarity with color theory, matching techniques, and home decor items such as window treatments (experience with Hunter Douglas products is a plus).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to provide expert consultations and recommendations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail setting, including lifting and handling products up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in paint or decor fields are advantageous.
- Availability for full-time hours, including weekends.
- Randall’s has favorable daily hours of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Saturday 9am-5pm Sunday 11am-4pm.
