Arctos & Bird is a values-based hospitality and property management company in Banff National Park. We are looking for a motivated HR Coordinator to provide support to our businesses and maintain our positive, inspiring company culture. This role is for someone who thrives in variety and genuinely cares about the employee experience. This role is part of our centralized Administration team, based in our downtown Banff office, while supporting our business entities: Wild Flour Artisan Bakery, Little Wild Coffee & Gelato and Juniper Hotel & Bistro.
Reports Directly To: Human Resources Manager
What You’ll Own
- Manage the full recruitment process for all our businesses with support, including job postings, candidate pre-screening, interviews, and representing the company at job hiring fairs.
- Welcome new team members, onboard them in our systems, and support their smooth integration.
- Organize and lead employee orientation sessions to ensure new hires are prepared and confident as they begin.
- Support a positive workplace by resolving conflicts, addressing concerns, and ensuring all team members feel valued and respected.
- Serve as the primary contact for HR policy and procedure inquiries, providing clear guidance to support the team.
- Oversee daily staff accommodation operations, with ongoing support available as needed.
- Organize team events, celebrations, and social activities to foster engagement throughout the year.
- Support workplace safety by assisting with incident and WCB reporting, maintaining current safety practices, and participating in safety meetings.
- Support payroll administration when required.
What You Bring
- A diploma or degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, though diverse backgrounds are valued.
- You have at least two years of experience in HR coordination or generalist roles.
- You have knowledge of employment law, payroll fundamentals, and health and safety standards.
- You demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- You approach challenges calmly and apply effective problem-solving skills.
- You are detail-oriented and accurate, contributing to team success.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, and use these tools to support efficient operations. You are also comfortable using HRIS and payroll software.
- You effectively manage competing deadlines and maintain project progress.

Pay: $55,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
