Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for structural steel fabricating, assembling, and installing metal components using various welding techniques and fitting skills. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint and schematics to ensure precision and quality in all projects. The Welder/Fitter will play a vital part in supporting construction and manufacturing operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and craftsmanship.
Duties
- Perform MIG welding to fabricate metal structures and components with precision.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide fabrication and assembly processes.
- Use hand tools, power tools and other measuring instruments to ensure accurate fitting of parts.
- Rigging materials and components safely for lifting or positioning using cranes or forklifts.
- Assemble metal parts utilizing welding techniques, mechanical fasteners, and hand tools.
- Maintain a clean work environment by following safety protocols during fabrication and assembly processes.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues related to structural steel, or other fabricated components.
- Follow safety guidelines for working with power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery.
Requirements
- Proven experience in welding (MIG) with the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment.
- Ability to operate cranes and forklifts safely; relevant certifications are a plus.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques for lifting heavy components safely.
- Strong understanding of schematics and assembly instructions for complex projects.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
