Nella Toronto is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician (313A) to join our installation and service team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration and food equipment systems. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, technically skilled, and comfortable working independently at various client sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and complete service and installation work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Communicate with clients to assess equipment issues, operational needs, and repair requirements
- Install, commission, and test refrigeration systems, beverage equipment, and other commercial food equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and compliance documentation
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical failures and perform repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on refrigeration systems
- Replace worn or defective components such as seals, motors, and system housings
- Order parts, manage materials, and maintain adequate stock levels
- Advise clients on repair costs, system upgrades, and alternative equipment solutions
- Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards, building codes, and regulations
Mandatory Certifications & Licenses
- 313A – Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic Certificate of Qualification
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Experience & Skills
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills
- Solid understanding of Ontario building codes and safety regulations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physically capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in varied environments, including rooftops and outdoor conditions
