Hospice Calgary is seeking a passionate, relationship-driven Senior Philanthropy Officer to join our Fund Development & Marketing team in a full-time, permanent role. Working closely with the Director of Marketing & Fund Development, you’ll help advance strategic fundraising priorities, contribute fresh ideas, and support a strong culture of philanthropy across the organization.
This is an opportunity to ensure the sustainability of compassionate care, grief support, and end-of-life services that make a meaningful difference for individuals and families across our community.
As part of a collaborative team, you’ll take a donor-centric approach to building lasting relationships and inspiring generosity. You understand the power of storytelling to deepen engagement and demonstrate impact.
In this role, you will lead and support fundraising initiatives aligned with Hospice Calgary’s mission. You’ll develop compelling grant applications, stewardship reports, annual giving campaigns, and donor communications that bring our impact to life.
The ideal candidate IS:
An enthusiastic, experienced fundraiser – You believe in taking a donor-centric approach to philanthropy, and are always looking for new ways to share impact with donors.
A connector and storyteller – you enjoy making connections with current and prospective donors to share impact stories about Hospice Calgary’s work.
A collaborator– You are a fun and energetic team player who works well with a consensus model for decision making and have an appetite for ongoing learning.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in a fundraising role.
- Raiser’s Edge NXT or similar CRM experience.
- Knowledge of Calgary’s philanthropic community.
- Strong writing and storytelling ability.
- Proven ability to collaborate with respect and integrity.
- Adaptable to shifting priorities.
