Job Summary
Outshine Academic Institutions is seeking a motivated and dedicated English Tutor (Grades 1–8) to support students in developing strong literacy skills aligned with the Ontario Curriculum. The tutor will provide individualized and small-group instruction in reading, writing, grammar, and comprehension, while also assisting with homework and study skills.
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with young learners, able to create engaging and supportive learning environments, and committed to helping students build confidence and achieve academic success.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum (Grades 1–8 – English/Literacy)
- Excellent reading, writing, grammar, and comprehension skills
- Ability to provide effective homework help and academic support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and motivate young learners
- Classroom and behavior management skills
- Experience with lesson planning and tutoring strategies
- Ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Adaptability to a fast-paced learning environment
- Basic computer skills (Google Docs, worksheets, online resources)
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
