We are seeking an experienced Crusher Mechanic to take ownership of the maintenance, reliability, and performance of our Sandvik QH332 Cone Crusher in Kugluktuk, Nunavut.
The Opportunity
This is not a general heavy equipment mechanic position.
We are looking for someone who will take full responsibility for keeping our crushing operation running efficiently. The successful candidate will oversee all maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational readiness of our Sandvik QH332 crushing plant.
Experience working on mobile crushing plants is essential, and experience with Sandvik equipment is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Perform all preventative and scheduled maintenance on the Sandvik QH332 Cone Crusher.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime.
- Inspect and maintain crusher components, including belts, screens, conveyors, bearings, liners, and wear parts.
- Plan and schedule maintenance to maximize production.
- Ensure the crusher is operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.
- Work closely with project management and owner to support production targets.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience maintaining crushing plants or aggregate production equipment.
- Experience with Sandvik crushers is a significant asset.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, diesel engine, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues independently.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to work rotational schedules in Nunavut.
