Development Coordinator

As owner, developer, and operator, we work closely with consultants, municipalities, contractors, funding partners, and community stakeholders to deliver projects that align with our organizational mission and operational goals. We are seeking a Development Coordinator to support our growing development team and help manage the coordination and relationships required to successfully advance projects from planning through construction and occupancy.
Position Summary Reporting to the Director of New Development, the Development Coordinator will support the planning, coordination, and execution of development projects across the organization’s portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, relationship-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will act as a key coordination point between consultants, municipalities, contractors, internal teams, and external partners to help keep projects moving forward. This is an owner-side development role focused on coordination, communication, and project support rather than direct construction management.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination
- Support active development projects through planning, design, approvals, construction, and occupancy
- Coordinate meetings, action items, schedules, and follow-up activities
- Track project milestones, deliverables, approvals, and critical dates
- Assist in maintaining project budgets, reporting, and documentation
- Support procurement and contract administration processes
Stakeholder & Consultant Coordination
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, municipal representatives, and external consultants
- Support communications with funding agencies, partners, and community stakeholders
- Help ensure timely responses and accountability across project teams
- Assist with preparing materials for leadership, board, and stakeholder meetings
Administrative & Organizational Support
- Maintain organized project files, reports, and development documentation
- Coordinate submission packages, meeting agendas, and project correspondence
- Support internal collaboration between development, operations, finance, and property management teams
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience in real estate development, construction, architecture, planning, project coordination, or a related field
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and external partners
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and project coordination tools
- Experience in non-profit, affordable housing, community development, or municipal environments is considered an asset
