Farm in the Dell in Aberdeen, SK, 25 minute drive north from Saskatoon, is not your typical care facility. We are a bustling, active farm community where adults with intellectual disabilities truly belong. Whether our residents are starting their morning in our residential home or joining us for our vibrant Day Program, our focus is always on cultivating independence, community, and happiness. We are currently seeking dedicated Casual Direct Support Workers to join our team.
Important Requirement Before You Apply:
- We require all team members to hold a valid, full Class 5 Driver’s License with NO restrictions. This is an absolute requirement, as a key part of your role involves comfortably driving our residents into the city for activities and community outings (including during winter conditions).
Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Direct Support Worker, you are a vital partner in our residents' daily adventures and personal growth. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Residential Support: Assisting residents in our on-site farmhouse with daily living activities, personal care, and maintaining a warm, supportive home environment.
- Day Program Leadership: Engaging activities for day-program participants, ranging from greenhouse gardening and animal care to crafts and community outings.
- Skill Development: Helping individuals learn and practice new skills that foster independence, such as baking, gardening, and daily chores.
- Emotional Support: Providing the encouragement, patience, and positive reinforcement that helps individuals thrive in our rural, farm-based setting.
