As a Lead Registered Veterinary Technician at South Burnaby Veterinary Hospital, you will play a vital role in our team, providing top-notch care and support to our clients and their beloved pets.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, diagnostics, and treatments
- Lead and supervise veterinary technician team members, ensuring high standards of care and efficient workflow
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze results to aid in diagnosis and treatment plans
- Prepare animals for surgery, monitor anesthesia, and assist during surgical procedures
- Educate pet owners on health care, medication administration, and post-treatment care
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and protocols
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper sterilization and cleanliness of equipment
- Support the training and onboarding of new staff members as needed
Qualifications
- Valid license as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members
- Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate approach to animal care with attention to detail and professionalism
- Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role is advantageous but not mandatory
