Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Project Accountant to join the finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project-specific financial activities, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting overall financial health of our projects. This role requires a strong background in accounting software and financial analysis, with an emphasis on maintaining precise financial records and supporting project budgets.
Duties
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for multiple projects, ensuring timely processing and accuracy
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank reconciliation and account analysis, to verify data integrity
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, and other financial tools to record and monitor transactions
- Assist with budgeting processes and monitor project expenses against budgets
- Conduct auditing activities to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Support payroll processing related to project staff and contractors
- Prepare financial reports and summaries for project managers and senior leadership
- Maintain detailed documentation of all financial transactions related to projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data entry and reporting
Requirements
- Proven experience in corporate finance, bookkeeping, or accounting roles with a focus on project accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other relevant platforms
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
- Experience with auditing processes and financial services is preferred
- Ability to perform budgeting tasks accurately and efficiently
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments
- Prior experience working with payroll systems is a plus
This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the financial success of our projects while working within a dynamic team environment.
Pay: $90,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
