About the Role
Are you a detail‑driven accounting professional who excels at managing project budgets, overseeing payroll, and ensuring financial accuracy? We’re looking for a Project Accountant to support our growing operations in the scaffold industry.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for project financial oversight, payroll and timekeeping accuracy, cost tracking, and compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities
- Review client contracts, prepare accurate and timely billing, and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for scaffold projects.
- Monitor project expenditures, maintain cost controls, and evaluate financial performance.
- Maintain organized financial records, support audit processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Analyze project profitability and identify financial risks.
- Collect, review, and validate employee timecards for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure proper recording of hours, overtime, and leave entries.
- Follow up with employees and supervisors to correct missing or inaccurate time entries.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to track financial progress and address budget‑related issues.
- Prepare financial reports and provide insights to support senior management decisions.
- Perform additional duties as required.
What You Bring
- Strong understanding of project accounting principles and timecard reporting.
- Relevant construction industry experience is a mandatory qualification.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with QuickBooks Desktop and Quantify is an asset.
- Willingness to learn new tools and processes to enhance efficiency.
- Exceptional analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Proven ability to work with urgency, meet deadlines, and succeed in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary: $75,000 per year
- Signing bonus issued upon completion of one year of continuous service.
