Position Overview:
The Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Project Team by managing schedules, resources, and documentation to ensure efficient project execution. This role involves liaising with clients, subcontractors, and vendors, maintaining compliance with company policies and quality control standards, and ensuring all contractual obligations are met. The Project Coordinator also assists in forecasting, troubleshooting, and implementing best practices to maximize efficiency and minimize risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop construction schedules in collaboration with the Project Team and update them weekly.
- Assist with planning and scheduling updates to ensure alignment with project progress and deadlines.
- Identify potential extra work opportunities and communicate them to the Project Manager.
- Organize and maintain project files, records, systems, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with project management policies, including safety protocols, quality control, progress reporting, change order management, and purchase orders.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of contract specifications and ensure they are adhered to.
- Review and understand project drawings, ensuring that the most recent plans are provided to field staff and foremen daily.
- Ensure all foremen and crews are using Site Docs correctly and consistently.
- Act as a liaison with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain smooth communication and workflow.
- Coordinate and manage field production activities to ensure quality standards and contractual obligations are met.
- Address warranty work and third-party damage repairs, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
- Maintain inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring availability for production activities.
- Order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to meet project demands.
- Forecast future labor, material, and equipment needs to ensure timely job completion.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, and other resources to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Supervise field employees, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety standards.
- Assist in safety investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Support and participate in the development, implementation, and refinement of safety and field operation best practices.
- Monitor and enforce housekeeping standards at worksites, vehicles, and trailers to ensure care for company assets.
- Maintain day-to-day knowledge of all contracts in progress, including field completion status.
- Ensure utility locates are obtained at least 48 hours before starting work and "No Parking" signs are erected 24 hours prior, as needed.
- Attend weekly site and company meetings to provide updates and collaborate on project goals.
- Proactively identify potential production issues and develop resolutions to minimize risks or capitalize on opportunities.
Qualifications
Education
- Certified Engineering Technologist Diploma or related post-secondary education preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- High level of attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of industry best practices.
- Proficiency in organizing and managing project documentation and resources.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address potential risks.
- Knowledge of safety policies and field operation standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
