About The Role
The Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, repairing and maintaining the fleet (vehicles trailers, forklifts and telehandlers) to ensure that the fleet is well maintained for catching to proceed with minimal breakdowns.
This is a contract position covering a leave.

What You Will Be Doing
- Review and prioritize work for the day with the Fleet Manager and Planning Manager based on the following catching requirements for the next night/days catch.
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical problems on vehicles and equipment
- Maintain work logs, orders, repair and maintenance records on a daily basis.
- Ensure that all trucks and equipment meet all regulatory standards.
- Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
- Request the need for 3rd party assistance for repairs and maintenance when needed.
- Offer insight and suggestions on the replacement or purchase of trucks and equipment.
- Attend meetings when required.
What You Will Bring
- Minimum two years of experience required
- Experience working on electric brakes
- Team-player with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities;
- Trade license 310S or 310T, or equivalent working experience, is required
- An AZ or AR license would be a strong asset
