Foothills School Division invites applications for a Level 3 Early Childhood Educator at Joe Clark School to join a full-day, play-based Early Learning classroom that blends Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten students, supported by both a certificated teacher and a full-time early childhood educator to ensure both developmental and academic growth. This role is centred on intentional collaboration with the Kindergarten teacher and a shared commitment to early identification and intervention to support all learners.
The key responsibilities of the Early Childhood Educator are:

Work in close partnership with the Kindergarten teacher to co-plan, co-facilitate, and reflect on student learning

Support a play-based, developmentally responsive learning environment that promotes both developmental and academic growth

Implement and monitor early identification and intervention strategies to support student success

Adapt programming and environment to ensure inclusive, barrier-free access for all learners

Support students with diverse needs, including developmental delays and emerging language development

Build strong, positive relationships with students, families, and staff
This position is scheduled according to the 10-month school calendar.
To prepare for this role, you will hold an Early Learning and Child Care Diploma or equivalent, Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Certification and have previous experience working with early learning children in a school-based setting. Having a strong understanding of child development and play-based learning is a strong asset.
