Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with industrial electrical systems, preferably in mining.
This role involves some travel. We are a Kamloops based company, but we service various mining sites in BC. We offer a shop rate which is when you work in town, as well as a contractor rate for when you are on the road. Overtime pay is also provided. While travelling, a company vehicle is provided as well as accommodation and live-out allowance.
Applicants must hold a valid Journeyman Ticket and provide proof of certification before being considered for an interview.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, systems, and equipment in industrial settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to execute electrical installations accurately.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical equipment safely and effectively.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools to identify root causes.
- Work on mining shovels, drills, conveyors, trucks, power supplies
- Install and program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation processes.
- Conduct low voltage wiring and system integration as required for various applications.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure electrical components are correctly installed.
- Follow all safety protocols and code regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
- Handyman experience is a plus for versatile problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail, safety awareness, and adherence to industry standards.
Pay: Up to $150,000.00 per year
