Company: Tributary Hospitality (Third Place Toronto + Miracle)
Location: Toronto, ON (on-site, Hybrid)
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Pay: $40,000 base salary ++ plus uncapped tiered commission (up to $80,000 in earning potential in your first year)
This is a base-plus-commission role, not commission-only.
About us
Tributary Hospitality is a Toronto multi-concept hospitality group behind some of the city's most recognized bars and experiences, including award-winning venues named among Canada's and North America's 50 Best Bars. This role sits across two of our event-driven concepts: Third Place Toronto, a premium private event venue, and Miracle, our seasonal Christmas cocktail pop-up running at two locations (Harbourfront and Bloor Street).
The role
We're hiring a driven salesperson to own event sales, bookings, and on-site coordination across both concepts. This is a hunter role for someone who loves filling a pipeline, closing deals, and then running the event on-site. You'll sell corporate bookings, Christmas parties, social events, bar school, offsite corporate events, and offsite bartending, and you'll be the point person from first inquiry all the way through the night of the event.
If you're a self-starter who sees an empty calendar as an opportunity, not a problem, you'll do well here.
Duties and responsibilities
Sales and lead generation
- Own all incoming leads and inquiries across Third Place and both Miracle locations, and respond promptly to every one via email and phone calls. Log all contact.
- Generate new business through outbound prospecting, corporate outreach, event planners, past clients, referrals, and social channels
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, tracking every lead, its value, and its next step
- Manage our Instagram DMs and community as a live sales and service channel
Booking and closing
- Run venue tours and product consultations for prospective clients
- Prepare quotes and proposals, hold dates, and negotiate within our event policies and pricing
- Close bookings through to signed contract and paid deposit
- Upsell every booking where possible, including bar upgrades, add-on hours, catering, and premium packages
- Perform site visits on site at 875 Bloor St West (and Harbourfront Centre during Miracle Season)
- Manage inbound leads with same-day follow-ups and phone calls.
Event coordination and execution
- Be the single point of contact for the client from first inquiry through to the end of the event
- Confirm all event details in advance with the kitchen, bar, and floor team, and prepare the event order so the team can execute without guessing
- Be on-site for the events you book, coordinating vendors, timing, and staff, and acting as the client's point person throughout until BD
- Handle changes, requests, and problems in the moment so the event runs smoothly
- Close out each event cleanly, including final billing, gratuity, and client follow-up
Reporting and administration
- Deliver a weekly sales report covering leads, tours, quotes, contracts signed, and revenue
- Keep the bookings calendar accurate and up to date
- Work closely with the General Manager, who owns venue operations, marketing, and spend
What we're looking for
- Proven event, venue, or hospitality sales experience, ideally in the corporate, social, or wedding market
- A closer who is comfortable on the phone, on tours, and in person, and who follows up relentlessly
- Strong organizational skills and experience with a CRM or event booking software (Tripleseat, Wix, Perfect Venue, HoneyBook, HubSpot, Eventective, or similar)
- Someone who thrives on targets and commission, and stays motivated through the quieter stretches between seasons
- Genuine hospitality instinct and the drive to build client relationships that bring repeat business
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends around events, especially during the busy Wedding and event season (Sept-December)
What we offer
- $40,000 base salary plus uncapped tiered commission (5% to 7%) and event admin-fee share, with realistic on-target earnings of $80,000 to $90,000 in the first year. (uncapped potential)
- A guaranteed base you can count on, with a structure that rewards strong sellers well above target
- Work from home hybrid schedule with the expectation that you come to site 2 days per week for site visits and supervision of the space / prep of the space for events. **Expectation that you will be on site for events that you have sold**
- The chance to represent genuinely exciting, award-winning venues that clients want to book
- A tight, ambitious team and direct access to leadership
