Job Summary
Ever Ready Trucking / Eastern Lights Transport is seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating potable water trucks and/or twin steer dump trucks safely and efficiently while maintaining a strong commitment to customer service and workplace safety.
This position involves transporting potable water to residential and commercial customers, hauling construction materials when required, conducting vehicle inspections, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate potable water trucks and twin steer dump trucks safely and efficiently.
- Deliver potable water to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
- Haul aggregate, soil, construction materials, and other approved loads as required.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are safe and compliant.
- Complete daily logs, delivery tickets, timesheets, and vehicle inspection reports.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and equipment hours.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and office staff regarding schedules and job requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal transportation regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers at all times.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Valid Class 3 commercial driver’s license with an Air Brake Endorsement and must be 18 years of age.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission.
- Previous experience operating water trucks and/or dump trucks is preferred.
- Clean driver’s abstract and safe driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with construction sites and heavy equipment environments is considered an asset.
- Physically capable of performing job duties, including climbing, lifting, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to pass any required background checks.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-oriented.
