Greendale Acres is a working farm and agritourism destination in Chilliwack, BC. What began over 25 years ago as a roadside apple stand has grown into a seasonal destination filled with pumpkin patches, flower fields, corn mazes, farm experiences, and thousands of guests throughout the year.
Our team works hard to create a farm that is productive, well-maintained, guest-ready, and memorable. We care deeply about agriculture, hospitality, teamwork, and creating an environment where both guests and staff feel welcome.
You enjoy physical, hands-on work and take pride in building, fixing, maintaining, and improving things.
You are comfortable working outdoors, using tools, solving practical problems, and staying productive in a fast-paced environment. You like variety in your work and enjoy seeing the results of a hard day’s effort.
You may have experience with:
-
hand tools
- landscaping
- construction
- groundskeeping
- farming
- maintenance work
- irrigation
- small equipment
- ride-on mowers or compact tractors
You do not need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable working with tools, learning equipment, and taking direction well.
You are also friendly and approachable. During our public seasons, this role becomes part of the guest experience. Guests regularly ask questions, interact with the farm team, and look to staff for help and information. We are looking for someone who can work hard while also being welcoming and professional around guests.
This is not primarily an animal care position. While the role may occasionally support other farm areas, the main focus is farm operations, grounds care, maintenance, planting, harvesting, setup, and guest-facing farm support.
As the Farm & Grounds Lead, you will support the Farm Manager with the day-to-day execution of farm projects, grounds maintenance, seasonal setup, and public-facing farm operations.
Your work may include:
-

- Using hand tools and small equipment safely and responsibly
- Operating ride-on mowers, utility vehicles, or small tractors as needed
- Assisting with irrigation setup and maintenance

- Setting up and maintaining seasonal displays, signage, fencing, photo ops, flower areas, and pumpkin displays
- Keeping guest-facing areas clean, safe, organized, and visually maintained
- Supporting seasonal transitions and event setup
- Assisting with daily operational priorities assigned by the Farm Manager
- Helping monitor public-facing farm areas during open hours
- Acting as a visible and helpful farm presence for guests during festivals and events
- Answering guest questions and helping guests navigate farm areas when needed
- Communicating maintenance, safety, or operational concerns quickly and clearly
We are looking for someone who is:
-
Hardworking and dependable
- Comfortable with physical outdoor work
- Confident using basic hand tools
- Mechanically minded and willing to learn equipment operation
- Comfortable working independently once trained
- Able to stay productive during busy and fast-paced days
- Friendly and professional around guests
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Observant and proactive when something needs attention
Strong assets include:
-
Landscaping or groundskeeping experience
- Construction or maintenance experience
- Farming experience
- Irrigation experience
- Experience operating ride-on lawnmowers, compact tractors, or small equipment
- Valid driver’s licence

Flexibility is important, especially during harvest and festival seasons.
$18–$22 per hour, based on experience and readiness for responsibility

- Hands-on training and development
- A fun, active, outdoor work environment

This is a development-focused role with the opportunity to grow into greater responsibility over time.
The right person may eventually take on:
-
larger farm projects
- seasonal crew leadership
- equipment responsibility
- operational coordination
- increased involvement in seasonal setup and execution
If you enjoy practical work, take pride in maintaining high standards, and want to grow your skills in farm operations and guest-facing environments, we would love to hear from you.
