The Position:
The Shipper will work under supervision and direction of the shipping lead hand. This individual is accountable for the care and handling of outbound shipments. The Shipper provides assistance and support to manufacturing programs and procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Pick and package outgoing shipments
- Build pallets or crates as required
- Involved in the monitoring and handling of shop supplies and floor stock
- Communicate any ideas, suggestions or concerns that will improve the material handling at Valid
- Uses handcart, hoist or forklift to assist with material handling
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to follow direction and coaching
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to solve problems independently
- Self-motivated, uses initiative, detail oriented
- Proven organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
Requirements:
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid BC driver’s license
- Ability to use power tools – table saw, chop saw, power saw, nail gun, skill saw etc.
- Ability to build pallets and/or crates
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly
- Must be able to use ladders
- Must be able to stoop, kneel and crouch at times to perform assigned tasks
- Must be able to stand for long periods

- Must adhere to all safety practices and procedures and work in a safe manner at all times
- May be required to work shift work and should be available to work overtime if requested
