The Role
Responsible for driving to customer locations and installing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining dock and door equipment and other industrial building accessories.

Install, repair, and maintain commercial overhead doors, rolling steel doors, and high-speed door systems.

Service and install dock levelers (mechanical and hydraulic), vehicle restraints, and dock seals.

Diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, low-voltage electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify wear and tear and recommend repairs before failures occur.

Lead on-site work activities while coaching and developing apprentices in technical skills and safe work practices.

Utilize mobile applications to complete work orders, capture job-site photos, and obtain customer approvals.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and fall protection procedures.

Schedule and coordinate service in accordance with daily repair schedule.

Confer with customers regarding problems and issues.

Perform safety and operational tests.

Complete and process necessary paperwork.

Maintain accurate vehicle parts inventory levels in compliance with Branch Guidelines. Pick up parts and replenish vehicle inventory.

Maintain all required safety equipment supplied with vehicle.

Complete all training as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications
-
High school diploma.
-
Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record.
-
Five to ten years of hands-on experience with commercial dock and door systems preferred.

Strong working knowledge of springs, cables, operators, hydraulic systems, and dock equipment.

Good mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics.

Able to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics.

Able to perform arc welding of mild steel.

Comfortable interpreting technical drawings and manuals to troubleshoot complex issues.

Must be familiar with tools and equipment used in the dock and door industry.

Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and confident interacting with customers in a professional manner.

Good organizational, customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
