Globe FC in Hamilton and Stoney Creek is looking for motivated, outgoing and enthusiastic Soccer Academy Coaches that are engaging and high energy for our Year-Round Youth Soccer Academy for children 4-14 yrs old.
At Globe FC Academy, we focus on building the player as a whole. We understand that each player is at a different stage of development in relation to both his/her physical growth, as well as, the game of soccer in particular. Our training focuses on identifying the current strengths and gaps of each individual player and working to build on the foundations of his/her overall and long-term development. Physical literacy is our utmost priority, giving our players the building blocks to thoroughly enjoy and excel at not only the game of soccer but in all physical activities and sports in which they partake for the rest of their lives. Along with consistent physical literacy input and training, players will be taught and will gain full competence in the technical skills required to excel and grow in the beautiful game. Heavy emphasis will be placed upon the player’s proficiency and demonstration of technical skills, which in turn will allow the player to be receptive and perceptive to more complex tactical aspects of the game.
Globe FC Soccer Academy runs training year-round, three (3) times weekly, with training taking place in evenings and some weekends, with a combination of outdoor and indoor training.
The primary responsibility of the Academy coach is to run the team sessions and games in accordance with the Club's development objectives. The coach will administer all aspects of team operations including training, games, player development, and off-field parent communication. This position will also assist the Technical Director in operational planning and other development priorities. The weekly workload and work hours vary throughout the year, but on average the Academy Coach works between 5-10 hours on field with light administration duties each week. Evening, weekend, and holiday work is expected.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
– Plan and deliver all training sessions under supervision from and with guidance of the Technical Director.
– Lead players in all training, games, festivals, and tournaments.
– Maintain regular and consistent communication with the Technical Director on player development.
– Work with the Technical Director and Club Administrator to ensure effective communication between the Club and parents.
Required Experience:
– Experience working in youth soccer or relevant individual soccer background/experience
– Experience creating technical resources and session plans.
– Soccer coaching – 1 year (required)
