We are looking to fill a group theory position with a highly skilled and passionate teacher! Ideal candidates should possess:
- Undergraduate degree majoring in music theory, composition OR equivalent
- 2+ years teaching RCM level 5-8 theory material
- Experience teaching group classes
- Ability to manage student progress and course independently
Responsibilities
- Teach theory courses from RCM levels 5 to 8 as well as private theory courses
- Ability to teach RCM levels 9 and up is an asset
- Plan, prepare and deliver teaching duties
- Prepare students to pass respective RCM examinations
- Assign, mark and return homework to students weekly
- Assess students' progress and follow-up with parents as needed
- Conduct classes in-person or through an online lesson format
