Our Corporate Human Resources department is looking to recruit a US Payroll Clerk (12–16 Month Contract) to join our team and report to the US Payroll Manager.
This position is responsible for processing 3 payrolls with some that are multi-state, using ADP Workforce Now payroll system. Tasks associated with this position also include, but are not limited to:
- Enter the employee changes into ADP Workforce Now as required. These types of changes include new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, 401k & Roth, garnishments, federal & state tax changes, benefit enrollment & changes, emergency information, direct deposit enrollment, leave of absence data, car allowance data and miscellaneous employee information;
- Enter and review the pay data changes in ADP Workforce Now. These types of changes include time sheet hours worked, including the revision of the overtime, paid time off, benefit adjustments, and misc. earnings;
- Insure the ADP transmission and verification of bi-weekly/weekly payroll processing;
- Run ADP standard & custom reports, assist Compliance Manager with FMLA, STD & LTD enrollment and follow-up.
- Journal entries of the processed payroll;
- Provide customer service to all company management and employees as required. Respond to requests for payroll information from internal and external sources.
- Assists employees with payroll, vacation, and policies;
- Reconcile general ledger payroll accounts;
- 401(k) remittance verification;
- Reconcile benefit invoices and create vouchers for payment;
- Maintain information compliance between the payroll system and our HR system;
- Year End and W-2 adjustments, i.e., taxable fringe benefits;
- Other HR/Payroll related tasks.

Required
- Possess a college degree in administration (accounting) or equivalent
- Must have advanced English proficiency (spoken and written) due to the responsibilities associated with the position, including processing and reviewing U.S. payroll data, tax forms, payroll reports, and communicating with employees, managers, benefit providers, and external organizations in the United States regarding payroll, benefits, 401(k) plans, and regulatory compliance. The candidate will be required to use English daily.
- Prior experience processing payroll preferably with ADP products such as Workforce Now and e-Time
- Accounting experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong math, reconciliation, and research skills are essential.
An asset
- Knowledge of group insurance coverage, 401K and related laws and regulations, as well as related jurisprudence
- American Payroll Association Accreditation
- Knowledge of COBRA process
