Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, with opportunities to operate heavy equipment and perform vehicle maintenance as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including commercial trucks and vans, to transport freight and goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule, adhering to route plans and delivery schedules.
- Inspect vehicles regularly for maintenance needs and report any issues promptly.
- Assist with warehouse operations, including inventory management and freight handling.
- Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, including delivery receipts and logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues.
- Follow all safety protocols related to commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving license (CDL) preferred but not required.
- Experience operating forklifts, heavy equipment, or commercial vehicles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of freight handling and transportation regulations.
- Ability to operate basic automotive repair tools for minor vehicle maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and route planning.
- Ability to lift heavy freight safely and work in physically demanding environments.
- Prior experience in freight delivery or logistics is a plus.
- Must pass background checks and adhere to safety standards at all times.
