About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Health & Safety Program Assistant to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Health & Safety Program. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of construction safety who is looking to grow within the industry, particularly in underground utilities and telecommunications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, updating, and maintenance of Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Support COR program requirements, audits, and documentation
- Maintain safety records, training logs, and compliance documentation
- Assist with incident and near-miss reporting, tracking, and follow-ups
- Prepare safety reports, statistics, and internal communications
- Coordinate and track employee certifications (e.g., Working at Heights, First Aid)
- Support the rollout of safety initiatives, programs, and campaigns
- Assist in creating and updating safety manuals, forms, and templates
- Provide administrative support to the Health & Safety team
Qualifications & Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in a Health & Safety or administrative support role (construction industry preferred)
- Basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and construction safety requirements
- Experience working with safety documentation and compliance systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Assets (Preferred)
- Experience with COR certification programs
- Knowledge of underground utilities, excavation, or telecom work
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or related field

Pay: $17.88-$29.77 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
