Northern Gold Foods is a well established, leading manufacturer of a wide range of healthy and great tasting breakfast and snack food products. With roots dating back to 1978, Northern Gold Foods now has production facilities located in British Columbia, Ontario and Oregon.
We are seeking Production Operators in our Packaging Department. These are full-time entry-level positions with significant opportunity for growth and long-term employment within a stable and growing organization.
Operators will be responsible for production and product quality by ensuring operation runs smooth. Efficient running of machines and other related work will be key.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Become familiar with all aspects of plant operations and machinery in order to trouble shoot and correct errors on processing equipment and highspeed automated packaging machinery.
- Perform equipment changeover and set up, reassembly, trouble shooting.
- Run equipment efficiently, reporting of downtime and reasons.
- Report waste and reasons.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Ensure sanitation procedures are followed and performed efficiently.
- Conduct operations in a manner that maintains high standards of health and safety to prevent accidents or injuries as a well as GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates must be self-motivated & able to multi-task.
- Candidates must have a proven operational aptitude.
- Must have reliable Transportation.
- Excellent English Language Skills - both written & verbal.
- Able to work within a team environment & independently.
- Experience in food industry an asset.
- Computer and mathematical knowledge would be an asset.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Must be willing and able to work 8.5-hour and 12-hour continental, rotating shifts, scheduled within a 24/5 and/or 24/7 operation (includes nights and weekends).
COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:
- Starting Wage: Entry Level $19/Hour; Experienced Level TBD.
- Merit review increase of $0.50-$1.00/Hour upon completion of probation period
- $0.75/Hour shift premium for scheduled shifts starting after 12:00pm
