Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Livestock Herdsperson to oversee the care and management of our farm’s livestock. This role involves working closely with animals, maintaining their health and well-being as well as maintaining farm infrastructure and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a passion for animal husbandry. Prior experience with cattle, farm machinery, and mechanical knowledge is required.
Duties
- Monitor and care for livestock, including animal intake, handling, feeding, watering, and health checks
- Assist with calving including rotating night-shifts with other team members
- Assist with the herding and movement of animals by quad or horseback
- Maintain clean and safe living environments for the animals
- Operate and perform basic maintenance/fabrication on farm machinery, equipment and infrastructure (fences, feed bunks, etc.)
- Operate equipment related to the cattle operation (tractor, skid steer, etc.)
- Maintain accurate and complete records associated with feeding, calving, inventory, and animal health
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and farm protocols at all times
- Assist with seeding and harvesting operations, as needed
- General farm duties as required
Requirements
- Extensive experience working with cattle in a farm setting
- Experience with farm machinery operation
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain infrastructure and farm machinery
- Physical stamina to handle long hours working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Able to sit and stand for prolonged periods
- Able to lift 50lbs safely
- Strong attention to detail in monitoring animal health and behavior
- Good communication skills for teamwork and reporting

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
