Parts Advisor Wanted (Maternity Leave Coverage)
Our Parts Department is about to be down one superstar while she goes off to do the hardest job there is — raising a tiny human. We need a capable, sharp, mechanically-minded human to hold down the fort in her absence.
Know your way around a parts catalogue better than most people know their own kitchen and don't flinch at the words "special order," keep reading.
The Gig
This is a maternity leave coverage position at our Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/RAM dealership. It's temporary, but the parts don't stop moving just because it's a fixed-term role — you'll be fully in the mix from day one.
What You'll Be Doing
- Accurately looking up parts using catalogue systems — VIN decoding, fitment, and all — for technicians, service advisors, and customers
- Sourcing, ordering, and tracking parts
- Advising customers and techs on correct parts, accessories, and availability
- Managing inventory — receiving, stocking, and keeping counts honest
- Working the counter with a mix of patience and personality
- You may be required to jump in on service advisor duties when needed — writing up work orders, communicating with customers, and helping keep the shop flowing
- Being ready to work Saturdays when the schedule calls for it
- Posting parts for sale online if/when required
- Shipping/Receiving duties when necessary
- Plus many other tasks needed to keep the department operating at peak efficiency
What You Bring
- Mechanical knowledge — you understand how vehicles go together well enough to catch a wrong part before it leaves the counter
- Catalogue fluency — comfortable navigating parts lookup systems, not intimidated by cross-references or superseded part numbers
- A self-starter attitude — you don't need to be told twice, and you don't wait around for someone else to notice the ball's been dropped
- A personality that plays well with others — parts, service, and sales all have to work together.
- Willingness and availability to work Saturdays as required
- Service advisor experience is a strong asset — if you can write up a repair order as easily as you can pull a part number, we want to talk to you
Why You'll Like It Here
You'll be part of a tight-knit team that actually talks to each other, working with a full lineup of Jeep, RAM, Dodge, and Chrysler vehicles, and doing a job that makes a big difference in the flow of the shop.
