SurexCARE is looking for an energetic and organized Events Coordinator to support our summer camp program for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role involves planning inclusive activities, coordinating community outings, and creating meaningful recreational experiences in a supportive and person-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead daily camp activities and special events
- Coordinate community outings and program logistics
- Support participant engagement, inclusion, and safety
- Work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners
- Maintain program documentation and follow agency policies
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in community/social services
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Creative, adaptable, and team-oriented
- Vulnerable Sector Check required
Additional Assets
- Certification in First Aid/CPR and Safe Management/NVCI
Requirements
This position is funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Candidates must be able to meet the following requirements:
- Must be between the ages of 18-30
- Must be able to work 35 hours per week from July 1-August 31
- Must be Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
Pay: $17.60 per hour
