The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing all administrative operations in the organization as well as building and maintaining a strong culture and developing strong internal relationships for all staff.

Develop and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures

Design and implement business strategies and procedures

Evaluate the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements

Optimize business workflows

Review statistics to continually improve on operational processes

Oversee membership

Support Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for associated tasks

Assist in creating and monitoring CEO and Senior Leadership Team succession plan

Implement, review and modify company policies, procedures and processes

Maintain files and records of policies, procedures, old manuals, etc.

Ensures Board Liability and General insurance policy is obtained annually

Update Corporate Return annually with new Board information

Support all change management functions in the organization with strategy, risk management and attention to change fatigue

Support CEO in risk assessment and management
Fundraising and Communications Support

Oversee Fund Development and Communications Specialist

Assist CEO or board in fundraising ventures

Develop fund development and communications strategy
-
Participate in strategizing expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, mergers, etc.)

Collaborate with managers and sites to ensure efficient, effective and sustainable controls and procedures across all departments

Track progress of fundraising goals, make sure they are met or strategies are adapted

Support grant recognition events
-
Support planning and oversee execution of Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Volunteer Support

Oversee volunteer management

Participate in volunteer interviews
-
Support Board of Directors with volunteer screening, onboarding, orientation
-
Oversee fund development opportunities, grants, events, etc.

As assigned, act as Agency contact in the CEO’s absence
Employee Experience & Engagement

Oversee Supervisors

Support staff developmental plans

Organize staff events and workshops

Support staff engagement committee

Organize and facilitate staff feedback ventures
Other Duties

Work as part of a team with other staff members and volunteers, including temporarily assisting on the floor or front desk if needed

Attend bingo events when required

Attend Committee meetings, ensure CEO is abreast of committee updates

Visit staff at sites

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
-
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field (Master’s degree considered an asset)
-
2-5+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, or organizational development, with at least 1-3 years in a senior leadership role
-
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, operational management, volunteer management, and organizational growth

Strong background in people leadership, including employee engagement, performance management, and culture development
-
Proven ability to manage budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation effectively
-
Experience working with senior leadership teams and Boards of Directors, including governance and policy oversight
-
Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills, with the ability to build relationships, lead teams, and drive organizational effectiveness
-
Experience in the nonprofit sector and working with stakeholders and volunteers in a multi-site environment and facilities oversight

$80,000 - $90,000 based on experience and qualifications
