The Opportunity
McElhanney Ltd. is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Northwest BC (Prince Rupert, Terrace, Kitimat). In this role, you will be responsible for managing engineering and construction survey projects. The successful candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment.

This role is designated as asafety sensitive position.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Liaising with both internal (McElhanney) and external Project Managers and clients
- Managing various survey project types including infrastructure, topographic, engineering and construction
- Establish project scope, budget and schedule, and other project or client expectations
- Preparation of proposals, technical reports and documents.
- Leading survey crews on projects; communicating scope and scheduling information to crew members
- Managing project budgets and financial reporting
- Managing information flow from field to final deliverables
- Interpret Engineering plans for layout and quantities as well as quality assurance checks
- Ensuring quality assurance procedures are carried out for proposals, field returns, drawings, plans, documents, and other deliverables
- Other duties as required.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree or technical diploma in Geomatics with at least 3 years of progressive experience in a survey project management role; experience in engineering and construction surveys is a strong asset
- Experience with AutoCAD, survey computation software and Trimble Business Center
- Experience with Civil 3D is an asset
- Experience with UAV (Drone) or Terrestrial Laser Scanners is an asset
- Knowledge of survey calculations, geodetic coordinate systems and map projections
- Strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills
- A motivating and engaging energy with demonstrated strength in leading highly complex groups
- An excellent written and verbal communicator with interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Results oriented individual, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines
- Valid driver’s license
What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $78,000- $110,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting.
