Job Overview
We are seeking a responsible and dedicated School Bus and Mini Bus Driver to safely transport students on set bus routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine care for children and passengers. Prior experience with school bus or commercial driving is preferred.
Duties
- Safely operate school buses or mini buses along designated routes, following all traffic laws and company policies to prevent accidents or incidents
- Follow all safety procedures
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to verify mechanical soundness, cleanliness, and safety equipment functionality. Report any issues promptly.
- Assist students with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety and comfort during transit
- Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, school staff, and parents as needed to coordinate schedules and address concern
- Maintain accurate records of pre-post trip inspections, and logs
- Respond promptly to emergencies or unforeseen situations with calmness and professionalism
Requirements
- Experience working with children and school bus driving or paratransit services highly desirable
- School Bus Driver valid Class 2 licence, Mini Bus Driver valid Class 4 up to 24 passengers
- Good drivers abstract
- Strong communication skills in English
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance is advantageous
- Good writing skills for documentation purposes
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and professionally
