Design Home Gift & Paper Inc. is a leading Canadian distributor of home accessories and giftware, selling over 80,000 items to more than 3,000 retailers nationwide. We operate the largest corporate showroom in the Canadian giftware industry and participate in the Toronto Gift Show twice annually.
We are seeking a hands-on Sales Support Manager with 5+ years preferably in giftware / consumer goods industry experience,to provide sales reporting and operational support, while also working directly with vendors, reps, and customers to drive account growth and ensure exceptional service.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the items listed below. Additional duties may be assigned as required.
Role Overview
This is a sales-focused, yet highly administrative and operational role that requires flexibility and the ability to manage a wide range of tasks. The Sales Support Manager will take ownership of daily rep, vendor and customer support, and reporting functions, while also stepping into field and showroom activities as needed:
- Coordinate sales activities and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Serve as a key liaison between vendors, customers, reps, and internal management.
- Provide customer-facing support as needed
- Deliver administrative support to National & Regional customers in alignment with company growth targets.
Strategic direction will be given by the Design Home Leadership Team, while this role will focus on the execution and coordination of vendor, rep, and customer-facing sales support across Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Weekly / Ongoing
- Generate and distribute weekly, monthly, and annual sales reports and sales incentive programs.
- Provide hands-on sales and administrative support to reps, vendors, management, and customers.
- Maintain sales tools, vendor reports, customer lists, and rep information.
- Provide administrative support for national & regional key accounts sales support.
Semi-Annual (Show & Market Weeks)
- Assist in showroom preparation, appointment scheduling, and rep coordination.
- Support all trade show activities, including order writing, assisting reps, and handling customer appointments.
- Assist with preparation and execution of national sales meetings.
Annual
- Work with Director of Sales to prepare annual rep budgets and vendor targets.
- Prepare and manage annual updates of reporting tools, budgets, and sales forecasts.
Periodic / As Needed
- Coordinate onboarding and training for new sales reps, including documentation and samples.
- Coordinate and participate in vendor training calls, and management meetings.
- Support rep recruitment and coordination as needed.
- Book and manage travel arrangements for sales team and staff.
- Travel occasionally to U.S. trade shows.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in sales support, account management, or sales operations (giftware/consumer goods industry preferred).
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with strong Microsoft Excel and MS Office expertise
- Hands-on, detail-oriented professional comfortable balancing administrative duties with direct sales support.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build strong relationships with vendors, customers, and reps.
- Based in the GTA, with ability to commute daily to Mississauga office and travel as required.
